Third Ashra of Ramadan

The Third Ashra of Ramadan: Freedom from Hellfire (نجات من النار) 🔥🌙

Ramadan is divided into three Ashras (10-day segments), each carrying a special significance. The Third Ashra (21st to 29th/30th Ramadan) is known as the Ashra of Nijaat (نجات), meaning freedom from Hellfire. This is the most blessed phase of Ramadan, as it includes Laylat al-Qadr (The Night of Decree)—a night better than a thousand months.

📜 Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The first part of Ramadan is mercy, the middle part is forgiveness, and the last part is freedom from the Hellfire.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah)

🌟 Importance of the Third Ashra (Nijaat – Freedom from Hellfire)

The final days of Ramadan focus on seeking Allah’s protection from Hellfire and increasing worship, as Ramadan nears its end.

🔹 Laylat al-Qadr falls in this Ashra—a night when Allah’s blessings and mercy are abundant.
🔹 Dua, worship, and sincere repentance can lead to salvation from Hellfire.
🔹 I’tikaf (spiritual retreat) is observed in this Ashra, where Muslims dedicate themselves to Allah.

📖 Dua for the Third Ashra:
اللهم أجرنا من النار
“O Allah, save us from the Hellfire.”

💡 Acts to Perform in the Third Ashra

Seek Laylat al-Qadr (worship in the last 10 nights, especially on odd nights).
Increase in Salah, Quran recitation, and Dhikr.
Observe I’tikaf (if possible) to dedicate time to worship.
Make heartfelt dua, seeking Allah’s mercy and protection from Hell.
Give Zakat al-Fitr before Eid to help the needy.

🌙 Conclusion

The third Ashra of Ramadan is a time for deep reflection, intense worship, and seeking Allah’s ultimate mercy. If we sincerely repent and strive to improve, Allah promises freedom from Hellfire.

May Allah grant us Laylat al-Qadr, accept our prayers, and save us from Hellfire. Ameen! 🤲✨
